Today I am going to cycle the last parts of the Remutaka Rail Trail from Ocean Beach on south coast to Orongaronga. The Mountains to Sea Ngā Ara Tūhono is a 231km cycle with a compulsory boat ride to bridge an unrideable section along the Whanganui River. The 32km scenic jet boat ride goes from the Mangapurua Track (Bridge to Nowhere) and Pīpīriki, the northern end of the Whanganui River Road. Read more….

Nelson Great Taste Trail

Next week I am planning to return to Marlborough and cycle the Tasman Great Taste Trail. It is a network of cycleways threaded inland and along the coast, linking Nelson, Wakefield, Richmond, Motueka and Kaiteriteri. The full circuit is 174km and cycles 1.4km through the Southern Hemisphere’s longest decommissioned tunnels. Read More…..
